It was Macabre! ... And tasty.

Sunday was the splurge day for my family, we went out and got four games, Lair, The Orange Box (I am in love), Prototype and Mercenaries: World in Flames.

My parents also bought two jumbo lobsters, the side of the box said 25 pounds between the two of them. I've never seen lobsters so large before. The claws were as large as my hands and the bodies were longer than my forearm, I'll post pictures later. My family quickly discovered that there is such a thing as a lobster too large.

The largest pots my mother owns were not large enough. A couple of you may be familiar with the beige stock pot, usually used for cooking pinto beans. The tail, though curled under would not fit into the pot as we tried to insert the crustacean face first.

The result from this discovery of ill fit was ripping the primary limbs off the lobster so we could boil the claws in one pot and the rest in another taller pot that could accommodate something so large. Though it is hard to empathize with something so alien looking as a crustacean, but I did feel sorry for him as he was half-boiled and still moving when the ripping occurred.

So did my step-dad, so when it came to the second lobster he drove a knife through it's brain until the mouth pieces stopped thrashing before ripping off the limbs and boiling.

The tasty part was of course eating the lobsters afterward, though that was not the end of the macabre. The green organ mush that you find inside the lobsters and is used in most versions of lobster stew, I watched it ooze out of the upper body after rending the cooked tail off. Not a pleasant sight.

Other than that life if going forward as usual.

Unbelievable!

I just saw a zebra today while my cousin and I were going to get something from her friend's house. We didn't pass a zoo either, it looked like a small farm someone was running for a hobby or something. I'm not crazy either because my aunt saw it too, though my cousin just barely missed it.

This isn't the first time I saw a totally out of place, exotic animal either. One time on y way home from school I looked out the bus window and saw something in the grass. I thought to myself "That's an odd looking turkey. ... That's no turkey, that's a peacock!" No one else on the bus seemed to notice and for a moment I thought I was crazy, until the next day I learned someone's pet peacock had gotten loose.

Also I did an experiment after my late lunch, making my own mint flavored coffee. Though that exact attempt was a failure it did teach me two things, it is possible, just don't make the mint tea so strong and/or make the coffee made from said tea stronger. Also that the whole thing would probably be easier done with mint flavored creamer if such a thing exists.

The Futon is busted!

I'm at my aunt's right now and have been growing accustom to sleeping with snores not my own, my cousin sounds like a slow mill saw. So while I'm here with my aunt, visiting a stuff I am also helping with stuff, like motivating my cousin to sort through her stuff so it will fit sanely in her room.

Well the futon I have been sleeping on is now officially broken beyond usability right now and I have been given explicit orders from my aunt not to try and fix it myself, she will get the screws and stuff needed and does not want me to go at it with a hammer. Though we both agree that if my step-dad and his power tools were handy the best course would be to have him fix it.

So much busy (coninuted) and a Birthday!

My Birthday was the 29th of May, I know this is a late journal entry for that, but I was busy. Friday I made cake, it was chocolate with a vanilla, almond butter cream frosting. Due to a slight misunderstanding with my parents though I ended up with three cakes, because they didn't know I was going to make my own and I didn't realize they were going to buy me cake. Then apparently the couldn't decide so they each bought the one they liked better, so from my mother is a triple chocolate cake and my step-dad got a ladyfingers and strawberry cake.

As for gifts I got a Darth Vader candle holder, two decks of Star Wars cards, an iPod, a camera, a Build-a-Bear bunny, a dragon themed chess set, "Left Hand of Darkness" and one of the Resistance: Fall of Man books.

Now the busy is I'm currently with my aunt a cousin, there was some miscommunication somewhere though because I was under the impression I was visiting for a week, but apparently I am to see about employment here, which I will admit is easier than seeking employment back at home. I am also to get my license as well, which I don't have to do before employment because downtown is in walking distance.

So much busy!!

I missed the due date for Chapter Two of Espers' Tale, by a lot and I apologize, even if I don't have a large fan base to really disappoint with such tardiness. The explanation is that I have been very busy and am now just starting to settle down at home now.

Finals crushed me, I had a report due and had to study for more than one test. Though I passed all my classes. I was most worried about history and math, but College Algebra with Trigonometry ended up being my best grade out of the four. I got a "C" in Introductory to Drawing, mostly because of my inability and refusal to use charcoal, but I did very well with inks which I will take picture of ASAP to share.

Then came graduation and coming home, so I am in Vermont right now. My parents have DSL now and I am on the wi-fi that my step-dad has set up; though I had to fight with it for several hours to get it to work.
